Here are Massachusetts citizens' opinions on Daylight Saving Time when the clocks "fall back."
At two in the morning, the clocks "fall back" one hour. Residents of Massachusetts are giving their thoughts on Daylight Saving Time on Sunday.
Due to the end of Daylight Saving Time, Sunday's sunrise will occur at 6:24 a.m. instead of 7:22 a.m. on Saturday. However, Sunday's sunset will occur at 4:31 p.m. instead of 7:22 p.m. (5:32 p.m.). After that, until the winter solstice on December 21, the amount of daylight will continue to decrease.
"It always baffles me so much. I constantly occupy a lot of time wondering, "Am I gaining time? Am I wasting any time? "asked Richard Primack, a resident of Newton.
Pam Varley of Roslindale stated, "I don't care, but I believe 4:30 is too early for sunset."
The Sunshine Protection Act, which would make Daylight Saving Time permanent, was approved by the U.S. Senate in March by a unanimous vote. The House of Representatives, however, is where the bill is currently stuck.
Denise Rosenblum, a resident of Natick, stated, "I just think that people would be happy and we'd have a lot fewer mental health concerns in our country." If people could go outside after work without feeling "doomed and gloomed" around 5 o'clock in the winter, more daylight would be available to them.
